Fairyland in Year 2
Year 2 have recently written to the fairies and in return the fairies visited our school and built Fairyland in our classroom. The children have loved exploring Fairyland and creating their own fairies and fairy stories.

The children in year one have been working hard this afternoon to learn about their five senses in their science lessons. Year 3 & 4 have been exploring money containers. They investigated some of the materials, joining methods and fastenings used to make money containers, before working together to explore different templates to help them decide how to design their own money containers in the next few weeks.
We received this lovely reply from the King after the children and staff sent their condolences on the death of the Queen.
A big thank you from the PTFA to all the parents and friends who donated items for our Christmas hamper raffle and then purchased tickets. A grand total of £527 was raised. The Christmas Card sale also raised £190.
The children enjoyed the PTFA raffle and name the teddy game today. The teddy was called Nutmeg. Lots of the children won prizes in the raffle. We all sang songs and the staff entertained us all with their silly games. A very festive time was had by all. Happy Christmas everyone.

Pre-school have been learning about Hibernation this week. The children have coloured in pictures of sleeping animals and then using tissue paper have put their sleeping animals into hibernation for the winter.
This week Reception have explored “remembrance” through looking at pictures of poppy fields and interpreting them with loose parts.
This week the reception children have been learning about hedgehogs through the story ‘It was a cold, dark night’. They have made their own map linking to the story in the craft area and written a sentence about the story.
