Stanbridge Lower School is a key part of the community and Governors have a vital role to play in helping to make sure that every child has the best start to their school life and achieves their potential.
We support and challenge the Headteacher using our diverse knowledge and experience to add value to the strategic decision-making process to enable effective school improvement, while the Head continues to have responsibility for the day to day management of the school.
The Governing Body has a clear structure, and responsibilities are delegated to the following committees:
Finance, Resources & Personnel: setting the school budget, monitoring spending, staffing structure, pay and salaries, publicity including website compliance, HR issues, premises inc health and safety, building maintenance and school grounds.
Pupil & Curriculum: raising standards and monitoring data outcomes, inclusion, behaviour, attendance, developing the school curriculum, inclusion, health and emotional well being.
Head Teacher Appraisal: setting targets to further develop standards in our school.
