At Stanbridge Lower, every child is an Artist and encouraged to develop their ability to think creatively and imaginatively. Art provides visual, tactile and sensory experiences as a unique way of understanding and responding to the world. Each year, children build on prior knowledge, where key skills in drawing, painting and sculpture are practised, consolidated and enhanced. In addition to this, children have a wide variety of opportunities to apply their creativity and skills within our project weeks.
We provide opportunities to appreciate a variety of Artists throughout each year; looking closely at an Artist’s work, whilst also learning to express views in an articulate, clear manor, understanding that not all views may be the same.
