Year 3 Masks and Biomes

This term, the children in Year 3 have been learning about biomes and vegetation belts in Geography. The children learnt all about the different biomes across the world and then created a ‘Biome in a Box’ to demonstrate their understanding of the climate, landscape, plants and animals in specific regions. 

In History the children have been exploring the Maya civilisation who began long ago in a place called Mesoamerica. This huge area is made up of Mexico and part of Central America and a large part of this is rainforest. The children learnt all about event masks and death masks and then designed their own.
