As part of our celebrations for the King’s coronation, the children in Year 3 and 4 have created a natural portrait of King Charles III in the style of Giuseppe Arcimboldo.
In Year 2 we have been planting a range of vegetables – beetroot, lettuce and carrot. We’ve also started a fair test using beans.
Year 4 have been investigating how to make working circuits with different components as part of their Electricity topic. They found out what each component did, and explored how to connect them to make a working circuit. They then drew and labelled the circuits they had made.
The children have been looking at measuring in their math lessons. They have been finding and comparing the mass of different objects and learning about the volume and capacity of containers.
In Year 3 the children built a volcano out of Papier-mâché and painted it. As part of our Geography topic this term, they have learnt all about extreme earth and they were keen to carry out a science experiment simulating a volcanic eruption. he children in Year 3 and 4 have been learning some weaving skills. The warped their looms, then used at least 2 different techniques to create their weaving.
Year 4 have begun to use their measuring, scoring, cutting, and finishing skills to begin to create their Roman shields. Next they have to use their joining skills to attach their decorations and handles.
Year 3 and 4 have been learning about fractions in their maths lessons. Recently they have been exploring equivalent fractions practically.
