Year 3 and 4 started their cooking lessons this term with Miss Carr our very own cookery teacher. She comes every year to develop the children’s skills, and understanding. The first recipe they cooked was sushi. They mixed up ingredients and rolled their own sushi. Well done Year 3/4 the Sushi was delicious.
All the children spent the afternoon working with Clay. Reception made dinosaur footprints, Year 1 made Viking boats, Year 2 made safari animal tiles and Year 3/4 made 1940′s household items and Anderson shelters. Year 2 enjoyed their visit from the Fire Brigade this week. They talked about home evacuation plans and how to keep themselves safe.
Mr Weir came into school this week and spoke to the children in assembly about his volunteer work around the village. He told the children how he helped with repairing things around the village. Hobbs catering cooked us all a Christmas dinner to remember today. Turkey, stuffing, sausage, roast potatoes, 4 different types of vegetables and gravy. Wow! We were all so full. Year 2,3,4 performed their Christmas Production today. It was called Holy Joe. The children’s acting, speaking and singing were superb. We all really enjoyed watching your production and you all worked so hard to put it together. Well done everyone. We thought your were all stars today and made us all feel very festive.
Pre-school, Reception and Year 1 put on a magical performance today, telling the story of the Nativity through a play called Little Star. Their singing was beautiful and they remembered all their lines and spoke them confidently. We all really enjoyed the play and thought you were all wonderful.
Monday 11th December was closed due to the amount of snow that fell across Bedfordshire. The next day the teachers all arrived early to clear a pathway to the front door. They were soon joined by parents and there was an air of excitement around school.
The children in Year 4 went off to the church in Leighton Buzzard today to meet up with other schools from Leighton Buzzard. They all gathered together to start the festive season off by singing Christmas Carols together. It was a lovely start to Christmas.
We were all very excited today as Square 1 came into school to put up our stage. Tomorrow all the children can start rehearsing on the stage in preparation for our Christmas productions. A big thank you to Square 1 for their time and efforts in putting up the stage and for not charging us. […]
