Take One Picture

This year the children studied Flowers in a Porcelain Wan -Li Vase.  The children spent the afternoon studying parts of the picture, drawing, painting and colouring vases of flowers and some children even made clay flowers.  The pictures are on display inside school for everyone to look at and enjoy.

The Inclusion Festival

Children in Year 3 and 4 were invited to attend this year’s Inclusion Festival.  The children spent the afternoon taking part in a range of sports and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.  As usual their team spirit and sense of fair play were obvious.  Well done children.

Landscape Drawing Day

The children went outside for the afternoon to draw landscapes they could see around school.  The children were developing their sketching, shading and mark making skills.  The landscapes they captured are drawn very well and accurately capture scenes from around school.

Paul Weir talks about his Baskets

We were pleased to welcome Paul Weir back into school today to talk to the children about basket making.  Paul has been making baskets for many years and the children were very interested in the process.  A big thank you to Paul Weir.

The children took part in many various activities across the day looking at how to keep safe online and how to be sensible users of ICT.

Sushi, Sushi, and more Sushi

Year 3 and 4 started their cooking lessons this term with Miss Carr our very own cookery teacher.  She comes every year to develop the children’s skills, and understanding.  The first recipe they cooked was sushi.  They mixed up ingredients and rolled their own sushi.  Well done Year 3/4 the Sushi  was delicious.

Clay Afternoon at Stanbridge

All the children spent the afternoon working with Clay.  Reception made dinosaur footprints, Year 1 made Viking boats, Year 2 made safari animal tiles and Year 3/4 made 1940′s household items and Anderson shelters.  All work produced was to a very high standard and they children developed their skills of working with clay.  Well done […]
