Across the week the children have taken part in lessons and assemblies which focused on how to keep safe online and what to do in events that you think you are being bullied online, keeping personal identifiable information safe and how to report incidents of unsafe behaviour online.
Mrs Norris, one of our school governors, visited lessons today with Miss Godwin to look at standards and progress in writing. All the children were working hard as usual editing and improving their writing or using Talk for Writing techniques to develop their story writing language. Well done everyone. We were impressed.
The younger children took part in their scooterbility exercises today. All had fun listening to instructions and learning how to be safe on their scooters.
The whole school took part in this term’s fire drill which they completed sensibly and safely. Children formed orderly queues and listened to instructions by their teacher’s calmly. Well done everyone.
Two groups of Reception have started working with Miss Godwin in their writing club. Today they formed letters correctly and had a go at writing independently using their phonic sounds to help them. Well done Reception writers. Your work was amazing.
A group of key stage two children spent an energetic afternoon taking part in the Tag Rugby competitions with other schools. As usual we were very proud of our school and the team spirit that was evident throughout the afternoon.
The student council held their first meeting of the new year by inviting Vas from Hobbs Catering to talk about the new school menu. They discussed what they like and what they would like to change. A big thank you to Hobbs for providing refreshments.
The children in Year 4 sang at the LC2 Carol Concert today. The concert is attended by all the schools in Leighton Buzzard. The atmosphere was great and the singing marvellous. Well done Year 4.
